Nobel Prize 2015 in Physiology or Medicine jointly went to William C.
Campbell and Satoshi Ōmura, and Youyou Tu. Mr. Campbell and Mr.
Omura won it for "their discoveries concerning a novel therapy
against infections caused by roundworm parasites", while Ms. Tu
won it for "her discoveries concerning a novel therapy for
malaria."
DRDO
sets up world's highest terrestrial centre in Ladakh

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) established the
world's highest terrestrial centre at 17,600 feet above sea level at
Changla near Pengong Lake in Ladakh. The centre will serve as a
natural cold storage for preserving rare and endangered medicinal
plants for generations to come.

for Digital India programme have been appointed. These are:

- Krati Tiwari, All India IIT-JEE —Advanced Girl Topper -2015 (Student)
- Ankit Fadia, Author & Ethical Hacker
- Pranav Mistry, Samsung USA (Computer Scientist & Author of 6th Sense)
The services of these Brand Ambassadors will be used for generating
mass awareness for the programme for a period of one year since
their nomination.

Bahuguna, the Chairman of food regulator FSSAI, has been given an
additional charge of its CEO, following shifting of Yudhvir Singh
Malik to the NITI Aayog last month.
Bhauguna,
a retired IAS officer and former Agriculture Secretary, was appointed
as Chairman of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India
(FSSAI) in July this year.

rose to 74, according to the latest list released by the Saudi Arabia

in the thickly forested hills in its east, India last month started
production at Magadh coal mine in Jharkhand state, what it hopes will
in five years be Asia's biggest coal mine.
At
the open-cast mine, which involves the clearing of more than 18,000
hectares (44,500 acres) of land, noisy excavators are busy digging
for coal that will feed a huge power plant being built nearby to fuel
India's energy-hungry economy.
