No private emails for official communication
Politics

Email Services > Mar 03
Email services provided by
the National Informatics Centre (NIC) will now replace the Gmail and
other third party mail services for official communication across
government organizations. This move comes after the imposition of the
email-policy by the Modi government which says that, each employee of
the government of India or any state/UT government staff using e-mail
services of GoI will be provided two e-mail IDs, one based on
designation for use in official communication and the other based on
name for both official and personal communication. NIC has the power
to “access, review, copy or delete” any kind of electronic
communication such as files, e-mails and internet history, for
“security-related reasons“. This will help the government handle
its resources securely and prevent their misuse.
